1. Short title, application, and commencement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(a) These regulations shall be called the University Grants Commission (Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2026 (UIN:1\/2026).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(b) They shall apply to all the higher education institutions in India.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(c) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
