In this way, the influence of indecent material is pushing adolescent boys and girls toward the greatest dangers in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 11.3 Cyberbullying and Defamation: Consequences of Leaked Private Images<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Cyberbullying is an extremely cruel form in today’s era. When an adolescent boy’s or girl’s private information or photos become public, it is exploited to cause them mental torment. Once something goes viral on the internet, it reaches millions of people. At such times, it becomes difficult for the victim child or girl to face society. The treatment they receive from school, college, and relatives is extremely humiliating.[3]<\/a> Cyber criminals take advantage of this situation to demand money or force them into more indecent acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This defamation leaves deep wounds on children’s minds. They constantly feel that the whole world is watching them and mocking them. The resulting depression is so intense that children stop talking to people and lock themselves in a room. Often, parents are unaware of this, and by the time they realize, it is too late. Cyberbullying is not just mental harassment; it becomes a weapon that destroys a young life’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 11.4 Grooming Grounds: How Predators Use Platforms to Find Victims<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Criminals lurking online to exploit children are called predators. These predators target children who show interest in indecent material or spend excessive time on the internet. They initially befriend children by speaking sweetly, praising them, or luring them with expensive gifts. This process is called grooming. Once they gain the child’s trust, these predators start asking questions about their private life and gradually lead them toward indecent acts.[4]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Social media, online gaming chat rooms, and dating apps are primary hunting grounds for these individuals. Children get trapped in this web in their eagerness to express emotions to someone. Once a victim boy or girl is ensnared, they are blackmailed and subjected to physical and mental exploitation. The damage to children in this process is so severe that they fear telling anyone. Criminals exploit this fear to continue the exploitation. This is an extremely dark and terrifying aspect of online obscenity that directly challenges children’s safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 11.5 Academic Damage: Distraction and Decline in Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Concentration in the age of education is the key to children’s success. However, addiction to indecent material brings changes in the brain’s functioning. Such material causes a sudden increase in dopamine levels in the brain, providing temporary pleasure. Repeated exposure habituates the brain to this intense stimulation, resulting in a lack of interest in calm and focused tasks like studying. Reading books or solving math problems begins to feel extremely boring to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Children under the influence of such material remain engrossed in the same thoughts, weakening their memory. They do not understand what is taught in class, and during exams, they cannot concentrate. Staying up late using the internet disrupts their sleep, causing fatigue during the day and reducing their learning capacity. Declining academic progress creates insecurity in children about themselves, leading them to distance from education.
